IMPORTANT NEWS
There is no Oracle EPM December update 25.12 and there will be no Oracle EPM January update. Production environments are on release 25.10 by default with test environments on 25.11 by default.
Oracle Communication
Recent Update Approach
On November 20, we communicated that the 25.11 monthly update would not be automatically applied to production environments across all EPM business processes. This proactive measure to not update production environments with the 25.11 (November 2025) update was taken after identifying a few application-specific issues with the Essbase 21.7.x version included in the 25.11 update. Even though only sporadic performance and accuracy issues were reported by a few customers, we decided to not apply this monthly update to any production environment by default to ensure we deliver the highest quality software.
To maintain the high standards and reliability that you expect from Oracle—especially during this critical period when many of our customers are engaged in their year-end processes—Oracle has decided to not apply the 25.12 (December 2025) and 26.01 (January 2026) updates as well to all environments (test and production) across all EPM business processes.
GK’s view
The current situation is a problem as test and production environments are on different, if very similar, releases. The safest approach is to ask Oracle to revert one of your test environments bask to 25.10 so that you have a consistent route to live to test all production changes.
We have not found problems with the 25.11 release, but we did have to check and update groovy scripts for our clients beforehand as per Oracle guidance. Please note applications like FCCS have inbuilt groovy scripts which is where we assume the performance and accuracy issues were in the small number of cases reported.
New environments – All new environments, production and test, will be created on version 25.11. No new features until 26.02 update in February 2026.
Production environments – By default on 25.10.

- Test the 25.11 update in your test environments and then raise a service request to upgrade your production environment to 25.11

- Cloning from a lower version to a higher version is not supported therefore you have two options
- Raise a service request to revert your test environment to 25.10 (Safest)
- Raise a service request to update your production environment to 25.11
Test environments – By default on 25.11.
- If you need your test environment to be on the same update as production
- Raise a service request to revert your test environment to 25.10 (Safest)
- Raise a service request to update your production environment to 25.11
