The Challenge

NEO are an independent full-cycle North Sea operator in the UK Continental Shelf. They had been using a spreadsheet based forecast planning process which had inherent risks and was difficult to scale. NEO required a solution to provide a single source of the truth and a central location for all versions of the forecast process data sets.

Project Objectives

Structured platform to perform the forecast planning process
Flow actuals from the SAP accounting system into the forecast planning process
Implement a scalable solution to allow the inclusion of future acquisitions
Customised exports of data to feed further processes
Ensure an audit trail of inputs and versions

Analysed

Conducted design workshops, reviewed planning hierarchies and captured NEO’s forecast planning requirements

Designed

Documented and captured system design specification by working collaboratively with the NEO team

Built

Implemented a custom Oracle EPM Planning application based on the agreed design. Migrated historical data and performed data validation in the new system. Built integration between SAP and Oracle EPM Planning. Delivered to regular milestones and kept the team informed of the progress through scheduled communications

Tested

Provided training to users and system administrators, conducted integration testing, and ran the user acceptance testing obtaining user signoff of the solution
