NEO Energy partnered with GK to implement the Oracle EPM Planning application to align financial and quantity forecast data for better and more accurate yearly forecasting.

‘We chose GK as our implementation partner as they were able to demonstrate a wealth of experience and expertise with the EPM product suite and combined with their collaborative working practices made them a great fit for NEO.’

Project Outcome

With GK we felt that they were part of the team, they work both on and off site keeping the team on track to meet our go live date. With regular milestone meetings in place, all stakeholders had oversight of the project and were able to assess risk and deal with any challenges effectively.

This implementation has been a huge success, having a positive impact on the team and business. By simplifying our processes GK have enabled us to free up time to focus on analysis and variance commentary. We would highly recommend GK to anyone considering a similar transformation project.

The Challenge

NEO are an independent full-cycle North Sea operator in the UK Continental Shelf. They had been using a spreadsheet based forecast planning process which had inherent risks and was difficult to scale. NEO required a solution to provide a single source of the truth and a central location for all versions of the forecast process data sets.

Project Objectives

  • Structured platform to perform the forecast planning process
  • Flow actuals from the SAP accounting system into the forecast planning process
  • Implement a scalable solution to allow the inclusion of future acquisitions
  • Customised exports of data to feed further processes
  • Ensure an audit trail of inputs and versions

What we did

Conducted design workshops, reviewed planning hierarchies and captured NEO’s forecast planning requirements

Documented and captured system design specification by working collaboratively with the NEO team

Implemented a custom Oracle EPM Planning application based on the agreed design. Migrated historical data and performed data validation in the new system. Built integration between SAP and Oracle EPM Planning.  Delivered to regular milestones and kept the team informed of the progress through scheduled communications

Provided training to users and system administrators, conducted integration testing, and ran the user acceptance testing obtaining user signoff of the solution

Made the system live and provided hyper care to the users during go-live with on-site support
